Stranger in a Strange Land

Post #1-"Stranger in a Strange Land":
I also can remember that when I got off from the airplane at Atlanta, I felt confused, I feared, I didn't know where should I go, what should I do. I had to follow a Chinese adult to pass the safety-check and find which gate should I got the next airplane. I also remember that 10 gate was my destination, when I stayed there, I hadn't move for four hours, until the airplane took off.
I arrived Gainesville at 12:00, but because of the time difference, I didn't feel tired at all. The next day, I went to school, I would study in Oak Hall for three years, here would become one of my most familiar place in the strange country. Here, America, different cultural, language, food, people and so on. I am a stranger in here, I didn't have high English level, so it was hard for me to exchange with others, in fact, at first, I even can't discriminate what someone said a sentence or a word. But I need to try my best to fit it, as fast as I can to become one part of the strange land.
But, right now, everything become better. I like this kind of study, which is I don't need to put all of my focus on study, I have time to do some sports, to have healthy body. I enjoy this, so, not only for myself, but also for my parents' hope, I need to fit the strange land, solve the problems of language, study and so on. No matter where I am, I also need to try my best to study. I also have new friends, already began my new life in American, I believe that I can solve there problems that I mention before.
So, with the help of many people, I will work more hard right now, I an hopeful with my future.

Thank you for sharing your memories from this first day in America; I'm sure it was tremendously dizzying to step off that plane (after DAYS of travel) and find yourself in a whole different world. Next time, try to capture the emotions/ senses of the MOMENT by honing in on specific detail-- the sights of Paynes Prairie driving into town from the interstate, the overwhelming sound of students speaking English around you in the hallways at OHS.

I hope we can make you feel more at home as your time here passes!
